I am working on several medieval archaeological deposits that seem to be related with building foundation rituals or offerings. Rather than looking for parallels (which I already know), I am struggling in finding works on this topic from a more theoretical and anthropological perspective. Any help would be appreciated.

You could drop a line to my colleague Tim Carlisle at Aberdeen - he has not published it yet, but has just finished writing his PhD on this topic (for Viking-age Iceland and Scotland). I am sure he will be more than happy to help and able to suggest good recent references. He has a background in anthropology and has revised the theoretical state of the art of ritual deposits in buildings for his PhD.
