Hi I am working on a project about extraction of different compounts in Spirulina. I need to know if after 400bar, the polymer PHB (which is formed by monomers linked by an ester bond) would still remain intact.
Since the tensile strength for PHB/s limits to around 400 bar therefore, beyond this pressure it will certainly break. But it depends on other physical parameters too.
Ariadna Pié , idea of Suchin about relation of chemical stability and tensile strength is really exotic, I am sorry for him.
Anyway, some reason to trouble is exist. PET (polyethyleneterephthalate) undergo solvolisys in supercritical CH3OH (500oC and some hundreds atm). Be quiet if you have non-protic solvent and much lower temperatures.
