“No.” No AI cannot develop its own religion because AI is a bunch of algorithms that takes in data and output data. A machine doesn't think.

As of now, AI cannot develop religious beliefs because it lacks consciousness, intentionality, and subjective experience. Even with AGI, the possibility remains speculative and would depend on how intelligence, consciousness, and belief are defined in machines.
