I do not regularly work with lipids, but sometime having similar problems with other compounds databases, I have to use ( sometimes) what I call double conversion. For example, 1st convert my IDs to one data-based, and next step - conversion to the needed data-base.

If you would like to try this, you can use https://lipea.biotec.tu-dresden.de/home to convert LipidMaps to KEGG, and then https://www.metaboanalyst.ca/faces/upload/ConvertView.xhtml to HMDB

If you have some scripting skills, you could use the LipidMaps REST API. The interface takes the LM ID as input and provides the HMDB ID as output:

I usually use a trick on MetaboAnalyst web server (www.metaboanalyst.ca). I dosent have direct conversion system. therefore, put the names in the enrichement section. The database will offer you most of the HMDB IDs.

Hi All,

I have a question about lipidomic data analysis using ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA) software. Is this software better than MetaboAnalyst in terms of biological interpretation of lipidomic data, enrichment and pathway analyses? What lipid ID does IPA accept? I have the name of about 400 lipid species. How to convert the lipid name to for example LipidMaps ID in bulk?
