Conversion of precipitation flux to volume and effect on peak value?

I am trying to convert precipitation flux (Kg/m2s) into volume for my hourly interval rainfall data. For this, I tried the following steps.

Multiply by 86400, which gave me mm/day.

Further, I have divided it by 24 to make it mm as the interval in hourly.

As attached, the annual average rainfall seems okay. However, the yearly maximum rainfall for the hourly dataset seems very low as compared to the observed dataset.

Could anyone suggest to me whether I am doing the right thing?

Dear Takhellambam,

If your original measurements are indeed expressed in kg of water per m^2 and per s, there is no need to accumulate data on a daily basis and then divide by 24 because 1 kg of water corresponds to 1 l (liter) or 1 cubic dm. If you can ignore tiny variations in volume due to small temperature differences, the conversion should be trivial...
