Dear all,
you can share your experiences, evidence, and expertise on patient empowerment, self-management support as well as living with chronic conditions and co-morbidities! You have until the 15th of September 2013 to submit your contribution to the Careum Congress 2014, which takes place in Basel on the 17th/18th of March 2014. It is also the 2nd conference of the European Network on Patient Empowerment (ENOPE).
The event is targeting patient organisations and health leagues, health professionals working in the out-patient and inpatient sectors, research institutes, government agencies, decision makers from the insurance industry and private sector, as well as European, national and regional political actors!
Topics in parallel sessions
a) Health citizenship, e.g. equity and diversity; the experiences of patient organisations in representing health care policy interests; patient rights and transparency in health care.
b) Health 3.0, e.g. the contribution to patient empowerment made by social media, mobile technologies and educational games, and the role of big data.
c) Empowerment and health literacy, rare diseases and family care givers.
d) Living with chronic conditions, multi-morbidity, and rare diseases, e.g. the sustainability and effectiveness of empowerment approaches as well as disease-specific and generic self-management programmes and the role of professionals and peers.
e) Research and facts, e.g. clinical studies and patient participation, patient empowerment and data security, as well as participation, quality and safety.

All abstracts are evaluated and you will be notified of whether your contribution has been chosen by the 31st of October 2013. Accepted authors will have the opportunity to write a blog about key areas of their topic which will be published on the congress website before the event.
