Hello everyone,
I would like to discuss my experiences with the review process at BMC Publishing Group. As an author who has submitted articles to journals like Scientific Reports and Health Services Research, I have encountered significant delays—often exceeding 9 months—in the review process. Such lengthy timelines can be frustrating and hinder timely publication, which is crucial for advancing scientific discourse.
Additionally, I've noticed inconsistencies in review quality, where many reviews focus more on language corrections rather than providing substantial scientific critique. This raises concerns about the rigor of the peer review process at BMC.
There have also been instances of retracted papers due to issues like fake peer reviews, which further undermine trust in their editorial practices. These challenges not only impact authors' reputations but also the integrity of published research.
I believe BMC could benefit from implementing stricter guidelines for reviewers and improving transparency in their processes.
I invite others to share their experiences with BMC. What are your thoughts on these issues? Let’s discuss how we can advocate for improvements in the peer review process.
Thank you!
