Does someone familiar with the software architecture styles. I am confused if the component-based architecture is similar with the object-oriented architecture. In addition, what types of interaction do they have, i.e., operation-based interaction (through method invocation) or message-based interaction?

In my view component based architectural style may be super set of object-oriented architecture. But one can learn from each other for better cohesion and coupling. Software architectures - by Garlan and Shaw may be good book to refer.
