I want to know about combination EMT and Mie theory. Does anyone have information about it?
As for the effective-medium theory (EMT), you may consult the book Optical Metamaterials: Fundamentals and Applications, by W. Cai and V. Shalaev (Springer, Heidelberg, 2010). For the EMT you may also consult Chapter 4, by K. Kajikawa, of the book Optical Properties of Advanced Materials, edited by Y. Aoyagi and K. Kajikawa (Springer, Berlin, 2013).
As for the Mie theory, I strongly advise the original paper by Gustav Mie (Ann. Physik 25, No. 3, 25 (1908) - in German). The theory is also described in the classic book by H.C. Van de Hulst: Light Scattering by Small Particles (Dover, New York, 1981). More recent relevant books are The Mie Theory: Basics and Applications, edited by W. Hergert and T. Wriedt (Springer, Berlin, 2012), and Generalized Lorenz-Mie Theories, by G. Gousebet, and G. Gréhan (Springer, Berlin, 2011).
