I have downloaded ASTER DEM data from lpdaac website
The filename is "ASTGTM_NC.003_ASTER_GDEM_DEM_doy2000061_aid0001.tif".
After clipping as per the requirement, the value of the elevation ranging from 0 -2592 change to 0 - 2694. How this is possible? As the value gets an increase from the original value as I mention above after clipping, What will be the region?
Is the elevation some sort of average based on the resolution? If yes, then decreasing the resolution or clipping with a shape in which the resolution or surrounding pixels infer a change in the average value then the range of the variable might change.
Shanti Kumari This can happens due to resampling technique used during the clipping.
Try Extract by mask tool in spatial analyst tool.
