One of the most used classification to stage stroke is based on CT/MRI findinds:
- early hyperacute: 0 to 6 hours;
- late hyperacute: 6 to 24 hours;
- acute: 24 hours to 1 week;
- subacute: 1 to 3 weeks;
- chronic: more than 3 weeks.

Dilema is betwwen acute and suba acut, and it depends of MRI changes or difficultes in b rain. Firs point for going in subacute stage is positive Babinski and spasam.
The Stages are related to CT/MRI/Radiological view point.
Is that anything related to stroke stages point of view or stroke symptoms point of view?

The patient with stroke is in acute stage, when is treated on intensive care unit or neurological department by Neurologist, the duration of stage depends of CT examination and clinical pictures. In subacute stage is became after signs of spasticy, and it is continuinig rehabilitation at physical medicine and rehabilitation department. It is about 30 days. After that when the mobility is increase or is included medical assistive technology, the rehabilitation is depends of clinical picture of patient. In this stage patient can be at reha department in hospital or come from home. After 2 months he is in chronic stage and after assessment of quality of life, he can be at home or in resident home center. After that to order to maintain what has been achieved, there should be continuous weekly rehabilitation up to 2 times (tertiary prevention).
