You are required to publish in your own language.

I hear that you wish to avoid referencing pain. There is no simple answer. Perhaps these tips could help you.

1. Maintain your database of references internally in Qiqqa etc in English. Nobody needs to know that you have done this.

2. If possible, do not use AND to separate co-authors in your text, use “&” rather. This makes final global changes possible if you reserve “&” for this purpose.

3. With the permission of your supervisor, connive to do a final quick check of all URLs over one day only. Then include a covering note that all URLs actually used were correct on that date. This saves having to tag each reference with “accessed “/ “retrieved” in your own language. It also reduces the number of bibliography pages. I did this with my monograph.

I am assuming you will submit your paper, essay or article in your local language but following APA or MLA citation standards, correct? I would ask the requesting institution (your university, I am assuming) to see if they have an adapted APA or MLA standard suited to your local language.

Unfortunately, I would be remiss to recommend the use of a translation tool for such critical elements such as bibliographical citations (works cited, I mean).
