My master thesis consider the influence of organizational strategies on employee commitment. I have some control variables, such as, gender, age, political party preference, years of working experience at the company, employment contract status, et cetera. To understand whether my sample is representative of the population, I was thinking of running a non-parametric test on these questions... but I'm not sure whether this is necessary/relevant?

I found that the chi-square goodness-of-fit test statistic equaled 0.92 for employment contract status. Is this enough to conclude that my sample is representative of the population?
