The use of ChatGPT to answer scientific questions is a dangerous and reckless idea. ChatGPT learns statistical patterns in text, it does not understand or reason about the content it learns. The engine does not check whether the output is factually correct or not. The factual accuracy is only achieved by curating the material by hand. ChatGPT was made with documents on a scale that precludes such careful curation of material.
While I work on AI and support its development, I advocate judicious use of it. This is not one instance of judicious use.

I would also like to emphasize one of her points about plagiarism detection software, in that, there is a nonzero probability that the output generated by ChatGPT may contain verbatim content from another source which can be considered plagiarism. I cannot overemphasize her point on this, since, you could be potentially be violating the terms of use on websites and copyright laws.
