As we all are aware that publishing a research paper in a reputed journal is a dream of every researcher as it adds strong evidence to the scientific world and also increases researcher's own reputation in the scientific community. During this process,what are the common challenges faced by authors?

Major challenges are;
1. Formatting styles
2. Requirements varies from journal to journal
3. Long review cycles
4. Unrealistic review comments
After having been through the process at least 300 times, IMO it is bad luck. No matter how good the study is, if you get unlucky with at least one reviewer, you are definitely looking for a new outlet.

I agree with most of the views, I believe long review periods is a big challenge, and if you get rejection, then search out for a new outlet, and repeat the entire cycle.
At times, comments seem to be too generic or irrelevant.
Its sa tedious process taht one can only undertsand through experinces.
