Does anyone has experience with development of carbon capture and storage cfd model simulation. I am currently doing my master thesis in this topic and i am experiencing the convergence issues. for the absorption of co2 from gas phase, a species mass transfer model is used without chemical reactions. Is there anyone with the experience in this sector?

Hi, Umesh Magar. Could you please let me know what type of model you are using? I believe you are working with a model that includes a membrane contactor, where an amine solution is on one side and a CO2-enriched gas mixture is on the other. It's also possible to create a model without a chemical reaction. If you could provide more details about your model, particularly regarding the following points, I could help you:
1. Is it a 1D, 2D, or 3D CFD simulation?
2. Are you conducting a steady-state or transient simulation?
3. If it is a transient simulation, are you using an implicit or explicit method?
4. Are you solving the transport equations for the gas side and the amine side separately, or are you coupling them together?
Regarding point 4, it's worth noting that this is often how models diverge due to the non-linearity of mass flux. Thank you!
Arijit Mahapatra Thanks for your response. i am usid 3D cfd simulation. In my model, the gas enters radially from buttom, and the liquid is sprayed from the top of the column via liquid distributor. I am using Eulerian multiphase model. I am using steady state simulation. The transport equations are coupled together.
