Physical pharmacy is the science that works on the basis of the formulation of drugs and it includes studying solubility, pH, buffers, stability, colligative properties, polymorphic or crystalline form identification, particle size to optimize absorption/development and adsorption. Besides, it includes thermodynamics, polymers, and macromolecules.

Physical parameters of any drug formulation are as important as it chemical parameters. Because if there are any variations in the physical parameters of the drug or its additives during formulation that may lead to variations in the finished product such as variation in disintegration, dissolution time, carr's index, Hausner ratio, hardness test, and many more.
