Journal on English as a Foreign Language is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal in teaching and learning English as a foreign or second language. The journal follows a double-blind review policy.

The aim is to publish research-based articles having a depth discussion of the theories and practices of teaching and learning English as a foreign or second language. 

This journal connects conversational thoughts among English language practitioners and researchers with any interdisciplinary perspectives.

The scope of JEFL: it addresses ELT issues ranging from describing and understanding what goes on in the classroom to the examination of the effects of various types of instruction on learning to the study of the qualities and characteristics of the teacher and the learner as well as the various classroom settings in which instruction takes place, in the context of English as a foreign or second language.

JEFL is accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) of the Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education with the Second Grade (PERINGKAT 2 or SINTA 2) dated 8 August 2019 (Decree Number: 23/E/KPT/2019; effective until 2023).
