There are several papers addressing asthma management self-efficacy (confidence) among nurses specifically, and other health care providers generally. However, trying to get in contact with them to obtain theses validated tools but could not get a response.

These are some of those papers. Can anyone assist me to obtain the tool? and getting in contact with those authors
You could make your own tools to help patients.
1. Subjective assessment-
Ask patient the following three questions themselves every day
a. Do I cough with running? b. Do I wake up in the midnight coughing? c. Do I cough when I am upset? If any of those were yes, it means airway is still unstable and the medication needs adjustment
2. Objective assessment -
Help patient obtain an easy portable spirometer. Tell them record reading three times a day. Evaluate for them when you see them next time.
Assessment is useless until patients get interest in following their conditions daily themselves.

If you wish to have a good read on the subject, may I recommend an article in Respiratory Care (Jan. 2016) by Alzahrani and Becker? ACQ, Asthma Control Questionnaires is a standardized patient-centered test and a widely used assessment tool for asthma.
