Cryogenic grinding is a process where materials are cooled to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen before grinding. This makes polymers brittle, allowing them to break into fine powder instead of deforming. It helps achieve very small particle sizes, often below 100 microns, with minimal heat damage.
I believe the answer is yes, but the size of your sample is unknown. Freezer mills, like the one made by SPEX, is effective at cryogenically grinding all types of substances. On a smaller scale, we use a linear homogenizer with polycarbonate vials that we either 1) chill in LN2 and pulverize, or 2) actively chill in an AC Block, a device that soaks up LN2 and cools while the homogenizer is running. If you are looking for a production scale system, I'm not so sure.
