The first submittal to RG re my "Neutronic & Thermodynamic ..." paper was my Rev.39 it was assigned DOI: 10.13140/RG.2.2.12258.24002.
However, my Rev.40 - which has serious modifications - was submitted 2/14/2025. When I go into the "Edit" this same DOI number appears. I through that the DOI was unique to a given work !!??
Please help / explain. If I type the old DOI will it delete/replace with Rev.40??
Going to the paper's "Edit" does nothing. It does not allow user entry of a DOI.
The correct procedure (for updating a revision to a published paper) is to enter it in RG as "Research" ... RG will then generate a unique DOI.
Caution, if when entering, do not reference the original publisher (it will only assign the publisher's original DOI ... no joy); use "Research" w/o a publisher.
