I have prepared conducting polymer nanocomposites in powder form. I tried pelletizing the sample for dielectric studies, but it is cracking. I would like to know if PVA can be used as a binder in this case. If not, can anyone please suggest an alternate way to pelletize the sample?

Polyvinyl alcohol is a hydrophilic polymer. It is a poor conductor of electricity and will degrade the conductivity of your composite. In addition, attention must be paid to the compatibility of polymers. Hydrophobic polymers are well combined with their counterparts. hydrophilic too. Try to find a pair of yours and the following polymers: polyacetylene, polypyrrole, polythiophene, polyaniline, poly-p-phenylene sulfide, and poly-p-phenylene-vinylene.
I agree with professor Yuri Mirgorod. But if you won't find another polymer you can use PVA, but add very small amount. Usually I use only 1-5 wt.% of PVA for powder compacting.
Also my colleagues use different approach for resistivity measurement of high containing carbon materials. You can use PTFE cylinder with through screw thread. As electrodes two bronze screws suitable for hole can be used. By introducing powder inside this cylinder and tightening the screws you can make a pellet inside this cylinder for measuring resistivty. Dont forget to measure length of screws putted in cylinder before and after introducing your powder.
