I was to that chitosan nano particles cannot be used as a carrier for soil bacteria due to their antimicrobial properties. Its it possible to use chitosan
NP in its crude form or is there a way to modify it to be usable as a microbial carrier?

Chitosan nanoparticles with positive charge can enhance the adhesion of antigens in nasal mucosa and promote its absorption, which is expected to be used for intranasal vaccine delivery (Chitosan-Based (Nano)Materials for Novel Biomedical Applications).
Regarding your question about using chitosan as a nano carrier in microbial inoculant preparation, I found that chitosan NPs have antimicrobial properties which make them unsuitable for use as a carrier for soil bacteria. However, I dont know whether chitosan nanoparticles in their crude form can be used as a microbial carrier or if there is a way to modify them to be usable as a microbial carrier.
