My independent and dependent variable is continuous, while the covariate is categorical. I heard that ANOVA is a more practical mean than hierarchical regression in this case. Apparently in ANCOVA, the covariate should be continuous while the fixed variable is categorical. Should I just insert the continuous independent variable as the covariate, or is there any other suggestion? How do we interpret the ANCOVA results if the covariate & fixed variable is 'reversed'? Thank you in advance.
