Is there any difference between Bioethanol and Ethanol. Are the two practically same or different.

Typically when it is derived from chemicals say petrolchemicals we refer to it as Ethanol and when obtained from biological matter or plant sources we call it Bioethanol. Otherwise they both have the same chemical composition. I hope that this helps.

Hi Asma, I agree with Rafael! It is important to stress the source and whether the bioethanol or not. Bioethanol especially those obtained from agricultural/forestry residues are better from an environmental sustainability perspective compared to those derived from petrochemicals.

Practically both are same. But the origin is different. Ethanol is produced chemically. Bioethanol is from biosources. I Agree with all of the above Especially Rafael.
