based on my understanding, spatial intelligence is refer to the ability to recognize image and understanding its relationship with surroundings and emotional intelligence is about how well person can validly reason using his/her emotions and enhance it. For me there is must be a relationship between both intelligence to road accidents, like person who are colour blindness (lack of spatial intelligence) they still can drive and avoid road accidents by understanding in their own ways (intrapersonal emotional intelligence) the type of colours and how they see it might be different with others
Thank you Salimah. As a matter of fact I am about to conduct research in this area, however, I wanted to know if something similar has been done or will I be the first one to establish this relationship. Much help would be welcomed. I am also looking for funding to do the research.
Interesting question, I have wondered this too and you've prompted me to have a search..... Found some studies of personality and driving accidents/speeding tickets, here: http://trid.trb.org/view.aspx?id=372671 and PDF attached. One about emotional intelligence and also one about developing a car seat body sensor to detect drivers emotion, that looks really interesting! I hope these help and good luck with your research.

I suggest you to start by a sistematic search for previous research in the topic. You can use, for example, the SafetyLit database (http://www.safetylit.org). It is easy to use and it cover topics related with safety promotion and injury prevention (including road safety issues). In a preliminary search using key- words such as emotional intelligence, several papers appear on the topic.
