Waste from Covid patients is of course an issue, however, I reckon that it is not a big one in terms of environmental impact.
I would guess that the pandemic rather has a positive effect on the environment e.g. due to the decrease in traffic (fewer cars, relatively few flights).

The virus that causes Covid-19 allegedly came from a livestock market in Wuhan China, which was definitely from the environment. The virus spreads from person to person in a rapid manner, making it contagious. Therefore the virus is both environmental disaster and contagious
