For adsorption study, can we prepare a carbon from organic waste at temperatures over 700 °C and in a furnace without an inert atmosphere?

The atmosphere in the furnace must be anoxic. or at the high 700 oC furnace temperatures the carbon substrate will be ioxidized.and converted to CO2 .

Increasing carbonation temperature may reduces the yield of the carbonaceous material . Increasing temperature to high values may leading to an increase of pyrolysis CO and CO2 gases . Carbonation of organic wastes at high temperatures under oxygen may creates more defects in carbonaceous material .A suitable tools to clarify the effect of temperature on the properties of carbon are TGA,FTIR and Raman spectroscopy.
