The ISAAC was originally developed for 6-7 yr and 13-14 yr children, but many global studies have used the same questionnaire in children up till 17 years of age and as well as children up till 3 years of age. Can we justify this?
Wheezing in preschool children is different phenotype than older children. ISAAC questionnaire has not been validated for use in preschool children. Therefore it should not be used for determining prevalence of asthma/ wheeze in preschool children.
Thanks dear fellows, can anybody share with me reference of cut-offs defined by ISAAC questionnaire for defining asthma among children aged 6-7 & 13-14 years of age. I want the reference with the help of which children can be classified on the basis of cut-off.
