Can we define climate normal for any variable over a period of more than a 30 years, for example for 50 years ? Will it be correct?

Climate Normals are calculated as an average of recent 30 years period, can we take more 30 year period for computing the normal for long term trend studies?

Hi Saumya, we generally take 30-40 years or above to define CC. So if you are considering 50 years to define normal i don't find any thing wrong with it.
