We mostly simulate our problems before action selection. Can we apply this in machine to achieve human like problem solving?
Well, good luck with that Syed, because I think you're going to need it. The first problem is that not all humans solve problems the same way, which is a good thing. It'll probably help to save us in the future when the machines decide to turn against the human race...

In research we always simulate human actions, for exemple in Machine Learning and neural artificial network , and sometime simulate animal behavior like ants....

Machines should simulate all possible actions before taking action in physical world... This will reduce the cost.. increase the efficiency. reduce error... which would be a big question in future...

You seem to mean by "machine imagination" a strategy to enumate solution scenarios into a problem space. Game theory will provide you with many such strategies. Generally the problem space is much too big. The use of the world "imagination" does not seem appropriate.

1 - Translate physical process into suitable internal representations
2 - Use internal model for making predictions about the external world
3 - Re-translate representations capturing the predictions into the corresponding physical processes.

No you cannot. The reason is by the long list of variables that you need to incorporate BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY the multiscale and plastic dynamic nature of those variables. If the reality was 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional, then you could create a virtual reality for modeling. That is of course assuming you are not in a position to change the dynamic equilibrium we live in or impact of time on the perceived "real world" signals - qualities not possessed by human persons.

Something like this came up in an innovation network that I belong to. I didn't believe it was possible at first but then I figured out a way to make it work - to have a computer be creative, even without simulated problem solving first. That rather scared me ,because I don't want machines to be that intelligent...
