I have included the same items in teachers and students survey questionnaires and the same items were observed in the classroom using Likert Scale. I have also included two open ended questions in the teachers' questionnaire. Now in the discussion section I am going to merge all data to elaborate that I have collected from different aspects. Can I call this act triangulation? Please guide me
Triangulation generally applies to qualitative research. If you use the responses to your open ended questions, and if they are detailed narratives (i.e., qualitative responses), then you may defend this as triangulation. Yet, it appears that most of your data are quantitative. When you merge quantitative data from different samples, then you will need to do 'measurement invariance test':
