I'm beginning a study in which I aim to use spatial econometrics to analyze how the spatial proximity of winegrowers influences their pesticide use. The research relies on survey data that covers all regions of a country, is at a micro-level, with numerous observations, but the data is not exhaustive—it is based on a sample. As a beginner in spatial econometrics, I'm looking for insights into the relevance of this approach for my specific context (non-exhaustive survey data), as well as possible alternatives. I would be very grateful for any comments, suggestions, or recommended readings on this topic.
