Can someone suggest me some good stuff to read so that I can Interpret the results of Discrete Wavelet transform in MATLAB?

I Know that we decompose our signal when we are performing Discrete Wavelet transform (Multi resolution analysis) .

But what does this exactly mean when we say that we have obtained

approximation and detailed coefficients ?
