I would suggest the book of Judd et al (Plant Systematics: a phylogenetic approach) and Simpson's (Plant Systematics) book as well. All the best!

* and careful with Strasburger (Engl. edn.) … it's the translation of an older (previous) German edition, so not quite up to date!
