According to "Henry's Clinical Diagnosis and Management by Laboratory Methods" (McPherson & Pincus eds) differentiation of CPK and LDH isoforms is performed by agarose gel electrophoresis followed by zymogram development with coloured or fluorescent substrates and densitometric scanning. Alternatively, monoclonal antibodies may be used for faster detection. Troponins have superseded both enzymes as clinical markers of AMI. See for example
