I am trying to enter the component 2-ethyl-ethanolamine carbamate into aspen plus as a component name and as a molecular formula ( C5H10NO3- ). However, it seems that the component is undefined. So, anyone can suggest me a solution for this?

you can define a new material via HYPOTHETICAL tab in component if you know its properties.
when you click on it you have to input Mw, normal boiling point, Ideal liq rho, acentric factor and critical properties.

Abolghasem, since it's an ion you won´t be able to enter the molecular formula in Aspen Plus, it needs neutral compounds. There are many workarounds for this like entering a pseudo-component but take into account that the accuracy may be compromised if you don´t be careful with what you do.
I agree that including the molecular structure is better... I tried it though with Ionic Liquids and I´ve never been able to do so, it always return errors to me while simulating.

ANY COMPONENTS NOT FOUND IN ASPEN HYSYS OR HYSYS VERSIONS, YOU CAN CREATE THE HYPOTHETICAL COMPONENTS IF YOU HAVE SOME BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPONENTS SUCH AS THE MOLECULAR WEIGHT , DENSITY, ACCENTIC FACTOR, BOILING AND MELTING POINT.
