I am looking for the easiest procedure to allow me to determine the somatic cell count in raw milk using a simple microscope. I need please details of the reagents and the necessary equipment
Turk's solution diluted to the level of countable cells should do. Neubaeuer counting chamber can be used with enumeration done on upper and lower chamber and in each chamber counting cells in four corners and central square. If cell differentiation is needed then May Grunwald giemsa stain can be used with normal microscope slides
