Most things can be fun and only your inner self can turn them into satisfactory things. I will just use a simple point here. As a student, my aim is to be a researcher, but if I can add my contribution at a given subject and see that my work has changed something for the better then I see my studies as either fun and "professional" because they add information to a specific area that has not yet been focused. I benefit from it but most importantly everyone will benefit from it and in the future people will look at the work and know how to act. This is a bit personal but it's one way of seeing this issue.

In order the teaching of science to be interesting and joyful, one needs to spend some time in, conceptual introduction, interesting examples, history, etc. and the the more rigorous staff. A teacher to fulfil all these requirements must have a deep knowledge, and a talent to teach! This is not easy.

Definitely, science can be great fun. The practice anything with love and passion can be fun. When curiosity is satisfied and a scientist identifies the workings of something he / she has been investigating, the degree of positive emotion can be quite high and real fun.

I don't think that science is a fun, but ragarding making it is interesting to the students in mu own experience I use a lot of animations to present each topic and interactive discussions.

That's a big challenge actually and one that justifies the interest of goverments to raise interest in STEM education in particalar for females

I believe that science is fun by its nature. Teachers should keep science and science learning interesting, and pay more attention to the way they teach science. Traditional lecturing would kill the beauty of science and make it very boring.

Depends on the definition of fun, I teach for fun in science occasionally, but the more common feeling is wonderment leading to satisfaction.

and yes, evidence & links to real life are strong parts of my teaching,

I teach contextualised science whenever possible eg rollercoaster, ethics of reproductive technologies, how cars contribute to climate change and possible solutions etc, I also assess through authentic 'products' as much as possible. A book, report, model, video. etc rarely an exam.

Giving a student algebraic math problems to figure out makes little sense to students until it's taught in context to real life applications. On a teaching program or MOOK, experiential exercises can be in the form of computer games. An example of this could be by giving the students a real-world dilemma to solve.

I've seen people who couldn't complete a math problem in Trig or Calculus from a textbook to save their life, but due to challenges they've found solutions to over the years, they were actually solving some pretty difficult math problems without even realizing it.

For long-term retention of any education, especially in the STEM fields, learning the context of what situations to use the information being learned is paramount for the passive assimilation of material into the long-term memory of the brain.
