Kinetosis or motion sickness is mainly caused by a sensory conflict of different senses (e.g., the vestibular information about your movement does not match with the information from your eyes). But can it be caused by conflicting sensory information within one sense? For example, can different auditory information -- like a mismatch of frequencies (and their amplitude) and head related transfer functions -- cause sickness?

Yes , Blind people too get motion sickness because motion sickness doesn't have to do anything with the eyes but its related to the ears. The human ear has a motion sensing apparatus known as Labyrinth (also known as the inner ear).
Simply visit a rock concert with real loud music when being tired. Especially when the bass kicks in, you will resent a similar sensation. A kind of "shaking' all over"...

I have never read something like this in litterature (if anyone have seen any paper like this, tell me!). However mismatch frequency between left and right ears will not result as a sensory conflit but as "there is a sound right and another left" you can easily experiment it in the ocean, at the swimming pool or in your bath by having only one ear underwater.
In the other hand, hypotheticaly, if for exemple a damaged nerve of your right vestibular system lead to the transmition of weird information and your left vestibular system works well, ther could lead to a sensory conflict. but I think the result could be more balance trouble, probably headhache and drawsiness, than nausea (I do know that motion sickness is much more than nausea)

Given that congenitally blind people get motion sickness, it would suggest a conflict that is both intra-sensory rather and maybe also inter-sensory.

I believe there could be a conflict within the inner ear, without need for vision based on signal rates and afferent signal discharge variabilities in the inner ear which are in conflict. Just a thought.
