Can i use samarium oxide dissolved in nitric acid for doping in sol gel synthesis ?

For e.g i want to doped bismuth with samarium in bismuth ferrite.but i have Sm2O3 rather than samarium nitrate.could i use samarium oxide dissolved in nitric acid to dope in bismuth site.
