Rather peptone u can use pancreatic enzyme digested peptone/ enzyme hydrolysed soyatone/ cas.amino acid mixture etc if the purpose is to supplement amino acid mixture for fastidious organism growth/recovery/ fermentation studies. Peptone is a complex protein supplement, whereas bacto casitone is hydrolyzed protein source which contains amino acids/ hydrolyzed peptides.
