I am designing an empirical study that will use IED-SQ as a measurement for my IV (diagnosis of IED)? This measurement has two parts: 1. Life History of Aggression - Likert Scale 2. IED-Specific questions required Yes or No as answers.

My question is : can I use it as a continuous variable to measure the severity of IED among participants or it can only be used as a cut-off diagnostic tool? Thank you
