Can I simulate a communication based SIP protocol on Omnet++ simulator?

I would like to know if it's easily possible to simulate a communication based SIP on the Omnet++? If not, what are the possible tools to do that? For more clarification I would like to simulate a new protocol aimed to enhance registration in IMS network.

Actually i'm going for "IMS Bench SIPp" and i wonder if you already use it bcz i succesfully installed it with OPen IMS Core but i don't know how to launch a test for user registration with IMS bench SIPp. If possible can you send me the commands to launch such a test because there is few support in this point.
