Dear all,

I am working with surgical FFPE blocks that are quite large in size. I am interested in only a portion of the tissue (let's say 5mm /5mm) and I would like in some way to be able to put in on the slide without the rest of the tissue. I have heard on an instrument that makes a thin incision on the surface on the block and that should allow me to separate the piece of interest from the rest once the sections are in the water bath.

I have no clue on the name of such instrument, and google did not help. Anybody can suggest the name of such tool or an alternative solution?I would be eternally grateful :-)
