This is in regards to my thesis where I want to research training initiatives that focus on training and experimenting with how to use Virtual Reality technology for Storytelling purposes. I am trying to find the ideal research design for this qualitative study. I read the response to the question "What is the difference between G.T and Case Study method(link at the bottom), and from this I believe that it could make sense to combine the two, where Grounded Theory will guide how I collect and analyze data from the case study. What I am not sure about is if this research design is compatible with a social constructivist paradigm?

I am reading Chamaz now, who has a constructivist approach to GT, which I think is useful because her constructivist approach more clearly address the researchers role in the study. I have also found an article by Eisenhower called "building theory from case study research" where she uses a GT strategy, she provides guidelines that I think could be useful in my study. I am just now sure if I can mix the use of these two approaches? Charmaz and Eisenhower? It´s just not clear to me whether Eisenhower has a constructivist approach or not.

Let´s say if I go for a combination of GT and Case Study; should I focus on doing a case study of one training initiative or two different ones? I have already found two different ones that I can use, I am just not sure if it´s actually useful to include two case´s or if I should stick to one. Maybe this is hard to answer when I don´t give out any more information about the program.
