I have been developing a scale that has two sub-factors. I could run first order CFA. However, I couldn't run second order CFA. Based on the items and expert opinions, I think all of the items are related to one main factor. Unfortunately LISREL and AMOS doesn't give a second order CFA results.
Ferat yılmaz If you have 2 sub-factors, it would probably make the most sense to compute two separate scale scores, one for each factor (unless the two factors are very highly--meaning very near 1.0--correlated, in which case it may be justified to combine them into a single factor).

In that situation, it appears that the factors are fairly distinct. It may make the most sense to consider each subscale (factor) separately.
