For most of the materials in order to conduct electricity, a material must have some charged particles that can move through the material when an external voltage is applied on it. so can glass conduct electricity at room temperature? and why?
Window glass have sodium ions and therefore is an ionic conductor. Although very low, it does present ionic conductivity. All glass in whose composition alkali ions are present are ionic conductors. However, this conductivity is very low and therefore window glass is said insulant. There are hundreds of glass composition besides window glass.
