hello everyone! I would like to perform an experiment to measure the enthalpic and entropic changes due to liquid-liquid phase separation of hybrid peptide-structure. It is a so called self-coacervation process, thus it doesn't involve ligand-macromolecule type of interactions. How can I obtain thermodynamic measurements for this kind of system? Would really appreciate any advise and explanations!
Most current models consider interaction processes at well-defined binding sites. You need models considering a partition coefficient (equilibrium constant for partition into two phases), instead of a model considering an association constant (equilibrium constant for a binding site). Partition coefficients are employed for the interaction of small molecules and proteins with membranes (e.g., vesicles and liposomes).
However, I wonder if a liquid-liquid phase partition experiment for a solute can be properly done in ITC (influence and effects of diluye dilution and solvents mixing).
