Democracy can be beneficial because it allows more opportunities for different societal groups to give feedback on the issues that affect them, which creates a dialogue between voters and those running for office. With this being said, I would say that a functioning public sphere would be integral to such a system being successful, which would likely include an independent press. Is there a country in particular that you would like to discuss?
I would love to agree with Justin, but life often tells us that at time countries are economically very important which do not bother much about social matter, and democracy. At times it works better, when not too many discussions are to be fought, but when top down orders show a way. I personally feel that this is a huge deficit of human society, and I hope that in the long term democracy will prevail and that people make use of the power they have in constructive ways....
Dear Justin Patrick : thank you for your reasonable and respectable consideration, I hope to follow up on the second question on democracy in the near future.
Thank you so much for this important addition, dear professor, I need you to follow me on a second question concerning democracy. Your opinion is very important to me for your vast experience, and your opinion is good.
Now, your answer is clear and your voice is very audible, thank you for this honest answer, it will help me a lot in a project, when I try to explain the failure of democracy in some developing countriesز

Well, democracy, I believe, is a superstructure that depends on a solid foundation to thrive. The foundation here refers to social and physical infrastructures of which education, remains the pillar. If viewed from that vantage, democracy, rather than being a foundation, is a byproduct of stages of rigorous efforts at political, social and economic development of a people. The history of liberal democracy supports this position.
democracy is only as good as the people who use it. It depends still a sound structure and a political culture that allows differing opinions and ways to express them...
This depends on what meaning of democracy is being applied to the question. If we mean just a political system it becomes a bit problematic. Solving social and economic problems would require agreement or at least compromise on how to proceed among differing constituencies with conflicting interests. If we take the broader understanding of democracy as a moral system that respects the true equality of all people - not just in a political sense - than it is possible to move closer to solving such problems. This latter view endorses a more communitarian outlook than one which pits conflicting interests against one another.
I am proud and happy with every answer and discussion taking place in this regard. Your answers show a deep understanding of democracy, state administration and how to choose the government. Every answer and comment enriches the project that I will write. Thank you very much all of you.
Democracy can be a foundation, however, in some countries it has turned to oligarchy. All players must be invested in democracy, honesty and truthfulness for it to have a full impact on the economics, politics and social issues of a country.
@Srini Vasan If you say it can be a foundation and at the same time fine fault in the byproduct of such foundation, then something very important is missing. Quote me any where, democracy can never thrive where you have ignorant or pseudo-educated population as majority. Right from elections, square spades are selected for round holes. The repercussions of wrong decisions can be multidimensional - my country makes a good example.
Economic freedom and creativity are paramount; democratic rights will follow with rising living standards. The social remedy is to allow for all kinds of free economic activity, starting with self-employment, free lancing, cooperatives and firms.
I thank: ( Stephen I. Ternyik , Mila Ilieva , Chuck A Arize , Leonid V Vladimirov ), and everyone for these valuable answers, but we must remember that developing countries have; economic, political and social problems, some of which have wealth but do not know how to used it to achieve growth and economic development because of many reasons. Others have no material qualifications and very poor they can not achieve economic growth and development. Some countries are volatile politics, governments, even a bad economic philosophy chosen , did not know the path to true economic growth, led to the emergence of new problems and accumulation with the old, creating complex and messy communities. Because the issue is difficult and does not require the word ( Yes or No), the issue is very important for the failure of the developing countries and thees failure must fond a real solutions for ( Billions of people), if not this will create a great and growing problems for the whole world.
It is not enough to ensure our primary safety when we are dealing with a long-standing misinformed people who has forgotten what "fundamental rights" are because of a toxic propaganda.
We must allow a "democracy enlightened by jus cogens".
Proposed definition of "fundamental rights": those which are indispensable for the individual at the same time as for the nation where civic capacity becomes possible and all other nations of the world.

In the political and social sphere, democracy is clearly the best model to try to solve problems in these areas. The other model in which freedom shines by its absence, we see that it has led societies to corruption, persecution, the total absence of the most basic rights, ... In addition to this last political model, economic results can be obtained seemingly positive, but at the expense of what?
I think not many countries have faced complex political, economic and social challenges and crises that have threatened the legitimacy of the ruling democratic system.
Democracy is the political veneer of a commercial trading nation. The stronger the nations market economy, the more likely a democracy of some sort will form.
The stronger the market, the wealthier the nation and the fewer the material problems will be.
